FAQs
Answers to common questions about our services, pricing, process, and what it's like to work with Crossroads — so you know exactly what to expect before you reach out.
General
What does Crossroads Integrated Solutions do?
We're an IT consulting and systems integration company. We help growing tech companies assess their technology needs, design the right solution, source and procure the hardware and software required, integrate everything into one working system, and provide ongoing support — all for one project fee.
What does the name "Crossroads" mean?
Every growing company reaches a turning point — whether that's modernizing legacy systems, scaling into new infrastructure, or building a tech stack from scratch. We named our company Crossroads because that's exactly where we meet our clients: at the decision point between where they are and where they need to be.
What size companies do you work with?
We primarily work with small to mid-sized tech companies — from new companies building their core infrastructure for the first time to established companies modernizing systems that are starting to hold them back.
Do you work with non-tech companies too?
Our core focus is small to mid-sized tech companies, but if your business has a project that fits our services, we're happy to have a conversation and see if we're a good fit.
Our Services
What's included in your IT Consulting & Assessment service?
We evaluate your current technology environment, identify gaps and opportunities, and build a clear, prioritized roadmap tailored to your goals and budget — before any hardware or software decisions are made.
What does "Procurement as a Service" mean?
Instead of you chasing quotes, comparing vendors, and managing purchase orders yourself, we source and manage the purchasing of the right hardware and software for your project as part of our integrated delivery process.
Do you only work with certain hardware or software vendors?
No — we're vendor-neutral. We recommend and source whatever's actually right for your business and your project, not whatever's easiest for us to sell.
What's the difference between Systems Design & Integration and Procurement as a Service?
Procurement is about sourcing and purchasing the right hardware and software. Systems Design & Integration is about how those components come together — the architecture, installation, configuration, and testing that make everything work as one system.
Do you offer hosting or cloud infrastructure?
Yes, in certain cases. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is available as an optional add-on for clients who need a hosted, managed environment as part of their project. It's not something we lead with or sell as a standalone product — it's there to support your project when it makes sense.
Is IaaS available on its own, without a broader project?
Generally no. IaaS is offered as a supplemental part of an existing engagement with us, rather than as a standalone hosting subscription. If you're only looking for hosting, let's talk about your situation and we can tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
What does "Ongoing Support" include?
After your project is complete, we remain available for troubleshooting, minor configuration changes, and general technical guidance related to the systems we implemented. It does not include new project-scope work, which would be handled under a separate engagement.
Do you provide training for our team?
Yes — training and documentation are typically included as part of systems design and integration projects, scoped specifically to the systems we deliver. The level of training is defined per project.
Our Process
How does a project actually work from start to finish?
Our process has five steps:
1) Assess
2) Plan
3) Source
4) Integrate
5) Support
We evaluate your environment, design a solution, procure what's needed, implement it, and stay on as your ongoing partner afterward.
How long does a typical project take?
It depends entirely on scope — a hardware refresh looks very different from a full systems overhaul. After your initial assessment, we'll give you a realistic timeline specific to your project.
What do you need from us to get started?
An initial conversation about your business and goals, followed by access to relevant systems, personnel, and information so we can complete an accurate assessment. We'll outline exactly what's needed once we understand your project.
What happens after the initial assessment?
We'll provide a clear roadmap and a proposed scope of work, including pricing, so you know exactly what's involved before committing to anything.
Pricing & Payment
How does your one-fee pricing model work?
Rather than juggling separate invoices from a consultant, a hardware vendor, and an integrator, you pay Crossroads one project fee that covers consulting, procurement management, and integration labor for your project.
Does the project fee include the cost of hardware and software?
This depends on how your specific project is scoped. Some engagements bundle procurement costs into the project fee; others itemize them separately. Your proposal will spell out exactly how your project is structured.
Are there any additional or hidden fees?
No. Anything outside the agreed project scope — such as a change in requirements — would be documented and agreed to in writing before any additional work or cost is incurred.
Do you require a deposit?
Payment terms vary by project and are outlined in your proposal and contract. Given that we may be procuring hardware and software on your behalf, some projects may require a deposit or milestone-based payments.
Is ongoing support included in the project fee, or is it billed separately?
This depends on the engagement. Some projects include an initial support period as part of the project fee, with ongoing support available afterward on a retainer or hourly basis. Your proposal will specify which applies.
Procurement & Logistics
Are you vendor-neutral, or do you get commissions from specific manufacturers?
We're vendor-neutral by design — our recommendations are based on what's right for your business, not on manufacturer incentives.
Are you a reseller of hardware or software?
No. Crossroads is an IT consulting and systems integration company — we're not in the business of reselling or distributing hardware and software as our primary line of work. When a project calls for it, we source and procure the specific hardware and software your project needs as part of our integrated design and delivery process, but we don't carry inventory, sell off-the-shelf products, or operate as a distributor. Our role is to plan, design, and manage your project — procurement is one piece of that, not a separate retail relationship.
Who owns the hardware and software once a project is complete?
Once you've paid for the project, hardware and software ownership transfers to you (software subject to the applicable manufacturer/licensor's terms). Our procurement role is to source and manage the purchase — not to retain ownership.
Do you handle shipping and storage of hardware for our project?
Yes. Depending on the project, we coordinate shipping, receiving, and short-term storage of hardware as part of our procurement and logistics process.
For larger projects or when timing requires it, we work with trusted third-party logistics (3PL) providers to handle freight and warehousing, so equipment arrives staged and ready for integration rather than showing up all at once at your door.
What happens if something goes wrong after the project is live?
That's exactly what ongoing support is for. We remain your point of contact for troubleshooting and questions after go-live, rather than disappearing once the invoice is paid.
Do you sign contracts or agreements before starting a project?
Yes. Projects are governed by a signed agreement and a project-specific Statement of Work outlining scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees, so expectations are clear on both sides before work begins.
Can we end an engagement early if needed?
Yes, with written notice as outlined in our services agreement. You'd remain responsible for work completed and any non-cancellable vendor commitments made on your behalf up to that point.
Getting Started
How do we get started?
Reach out through our contact page and tell us a bit about your project or situation. We'll follow up to schedule an initial conversation — no pressure, no sales script.
What if we're not sure exactly what we need yet?
That's completely fine, and honestly, common. A lot of clients come to us knowing something needs to change without knowing exactly what. That's what the assessment phase is for.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes — we start with a conversation about your business and goals before any commitment is required.
